I ran as fast as I could. The muscles in my legs cramped up and my lungs burned. I definitely didn’t have the physique for this kind of stuff, but it didn’t matter, anyway. Before I knew it, I could hear a sound, and I knew he was following me. Instead of the horn, I was expecting, I heard an earth-shattering howl. In a matter of seconds, I could hear the forest around me go quiet.

The lack of sound was even more disconcerting than his howl had been. I slowed down, trying to find a place to hide or a tree to climb, when suddenly a rustle behind me made the hairs on my neck stand up straight. He was here, and he was watching me. Immediately I ran again, the feeling of being chased making me go faster than before, but there was no use in trying to run. Adrenaline and excitement coursed through me.

He toyed with me, guiding me with ease out into a clearing. Before I could turn around, he was on top of me. I was surrounded by him. The coarse hair on his chest rubbed at my back, his masculine, animalistic sweaty smell filled my senses and his growls filled my ears.

“I caught you,” Mason growled in my ear.

He licked the shell of my ear with his big rough tongue, and I moaned.

“Now that I have caught you, I will fuck you, mark you, rut you, knot you, and mate you. You’re mine.”
