Broken by Daddy

When my mother died, it felt like I’d lost both parents.

My father is no longer the man he used to be.

He was consumed by his grief, lost in a fog of sadness that I couldn’t penetrate.

Then, when I finally reached him, the lines between us began to blur. 

We were all we had left, and that became a dangerous thing.
