Daddy Don’t Wake Me Up

“Is someone there?” I wake suddenly.

As I lift my eyelids, all I see are the same billowing velvet curtains around most of the king-sized bed. I know I must have fallen asleep for at least a few hours because it’s incredibly dark in here now. Actually, it’s too dark…

Turning to face the outlet near the bed, I find out my night light has been unplugged. Did I take it out of the wall? I don’t think so. I don’t remember doing that.

I almost scream when I see a glimpse of someone in the bedroom with me.
