Oh my GOD. This book started me on an incest dark romance kick, and it set the bar extremely high.
The key to the feeling of this story is the contrast between the horrific violent cruelty and the (eventual) emotional tenderness between the main characters. Each of the characters has an internal life that explains (if not justifies) their behaviour. Even in the darkest of times – and this story gets extremely dark – it is ultimately love that saves them. This novel is bizarrely beautiful, and I love it.
I’m also just going to give 5 stars automatically to any story that writes male bisexual incest really well; there is honestly not enough of this in the world. Thank you, Hazel Black.

Wow! What a book. This one really isn’t for the faint of heart. You’ll need a strong stomach to get through it.
There are twists, some predictable, some not. It was very very dark, sick, twisted. I don’t know what it says about me that I loved it
Was it perfect? Unfortunately not. Would I recommend it? A thousand times, yes!!!
What made it drop a star for me was the ending.
**SPOILER ALERT**
I’ll try not to give too much away in case someone misses the giant spoiler alert. The torture that occurred at the end of the book felt rushed. There was no rapid heart beat as I was reading like the rest of it. It felt a bit “shopping list” rather than a culmination like I would have expected.
While the outcome of the story was satisfying enough, I still felt like the last few chapters were rushed.
I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author!

This book threw me for a loop. I didn’t know what the trope was before reading it. I thought I was a shame that it started so hot and heavy right away. I think a bit more back story and build up would have made for a deeper connection with the characters and in turn make the book better. The smut level is 6 chilis for sure ️ ️️️️️ the smut is smutting! The spice is spicing! The message of the book is interesting – be in a relationship with whoever you want as long as you are all once ting adults and no one is getting hurt. Siblings, cousins, step siblings – if that’s your jam go for it!

This has to be THE pitch blackest dark romance I have ever read. God help me I could NOT put it down. It was SO erotic and put a whole new level on the meaning of a taboo relationships.
