    When I read the blurb for this book, I was very interested to read this book. It is, in a sense, a check in with a monster who is supposed to have died a fiery death.
    I think taking this type of story on is admirable because it could be a difficult story to write. If you’ve read Frankenstein, you finish it with a mixed bag of conflicted feelings and it’s as much a story of society as it is the workings of a mad man.
    My review:
    We meet the monster who we, way later in the book, learn is called Sas, as he saves a woman from hypothermia. He immediately is attracted to this almost dead woman, and takes her back to his cabin where he takes care of her and develops an obsession to her. The first 50% of the book has a lot of painfully described care taking Sas gives “Angel “ due to her frostbite, along with Angel’s ridiculous train of thought and just a little bit about Angel loosing her mom at a young age-I still don’t understand why that was written in the form of flashbacks and dreams-we also are privy to the musings of the unemotional, robotic Sas and his immediate attraction to Angel based on her looks, because her personality shows us she’s spoiled and demanding that being said she can also be loving. He doesn’t really talk to her, but she jabbers away and uses the word “shoot” too often. It’s a classic Stockholm story with Angel being 100% dependent on Sas due to frostbitten hands and feet and eventually having feelings for him which leads to more, including unprotected sex. There is a lot of picking and choosing around what Sas has and doesn’t. He has super human strength, the ability to heal immediately, no blood (?) because he doesn’t bleed (yet has “other” bodily fluids) he has no reaction to temperature and is able to run around the arctic naked, he can see fine, but has blown pupils, he can have sex and has actual viable swimmers…mind blown.
    While this is a very intriguing story idea it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
    In it’s favor, there are no errors and the cover is great. This is my personal opinion and others may love this story.
