ON FIRE: explicit sexual activity in many or most chapters, graphic physical details, body fluids, all adult words for body parts. Physical intimacy is a big part of the plot.

Four fathers. Four daughters. One lost island and a forgotten mystery. Eight survivors of a mysterious event find themselves on a tropical island with no memory of how they got there and no way to escape. Together, they must learn how to create a new life for themselves, discover the truth of who they are and try to uncover the mystery that brought them to that place.

Robin awakens to find herself seemingly alone in a tropical paradise with no idea how she got there, stripped of clothes and possessions. Stumbling across one man asleep in the sand, she feels herself drawn to him and unable to resist the urges that come over her. As other survivors of the same event are found on the island, they too are overcome by their passions and desires for one another. Robin and her new companions begin to make a new life for themselves, but unanswered questions remain: where did they come from, how did they get to the island, and what is the source of the mysterious dreams Robin and the other girls keep having?

Book length: 72,488 words.

No one does “getting so horny that they go completely insane” quite like Rowan Betencourt does. I’ve returned to this book a few times as the sex scenes are just so hot. Rowan’s FMCs have internal lives that make their devotion to eroticism extremely believable. However, I do have some criticisms. The first is that this book turns into more of a BBC cucking story, which, while I’m still on board with it, I wasn’t quite expecting it. The second is that there is no real resolution to the story. While the influence of the mountain is an interesting idea, it never really goes anywhere and the story ends in a… well it’s not a downer, but it’s certainly not a happy ending either? Some interesting stakes and dynamics are set up, and then the story ends. Also, the blurb says there are four fathers and four daughters, but really there are two fathers and two daughters of importance; the others are a bit of an afterthought. I would honestly love to see a novel like this fleshed out even more, cause I think there’s a lot of potential here. Still gonna reread it, cause as I say, it’s extremely hot!
