I whimpered, causing him to loosen his grip, but before he could pull back, I grabbed him with my free hand. Fur tickled my hand, but I focused on his heavy breathing.

“I want the touch of my King, my husband. Please, Rowan. You are just Rowan, right? Be just Rowan with me. If you cannot be free with me, when can you be free?” I asked.

He didn’t reply, but he moved towards me at astonishing speed. Before I could say another word, I was on my back with his enormous body hovering over me. His unique, musky scent surrounded me.
