“It is perfect. I even have something that would fit here nicely,” he said. “I didn’t understand why I kept the fur as I tend to travel light, but now I know it was meant for you.”

At the mention of a fur, my back straightened, and I had to hold in the urge to moan. My Mate would provide for me and my nest.

“Thank you, Alpha,” I said.

He shook his head and made a face as if the word tasted foul. “I’m not an Alpha. I will provide for you and care for you, but we will be equal in every way. You can call me Kai. What is your name, beautiful?”

“Vanya,” he almost purred my name. “Do you accept me as your Mate?”

I nodded, leaning in closer, waiting for him to kiss me.

“I really want to hear you say it, my Mate,” he said, his voice lower as if he needed to contain himself not to shift.

“Yes, Kai. I accept you as my Mate.”

He captured my mouth with his lips and I melted against his body. This kiss was everything I ever wanted and so much more. I had finally found my Mate, the person I would spend the rest of my life with and he accepted me and my nest even though it wasn’t finished yet.
