Having lost contact over the years, she is surprised when he reaches out to her and offers her a position documenting the reinstatement of the royal family. Nicholas and Kerris reconnect quickly and soon it’s as if they were never apart. As adults now, not only is their bond strong, but their attraction is intense and undeniable. Kerris and Nicholas want to be together, but there is a law against royals marrying commoners.
What will happen when Nicholas becomes king? Will parliament change the rules so he can be with a commoner? Will he be forced to choose between Kerris and the throne? And will Nicholas even make it to the throne? Or will those opposed to the monarchy succeed in destroying it?
I absolutely loved this story! I really enjoy royal romances and my favorite tropes are friends to lovers and second chance, so this was right up my alley. Kerris and Nicholas were both wonderful characters – likeable and relatable. The world-building was fantastic, realistic, and believable. Full of romance, intrigue, suspense, and steamy scenes, I highly recommend this page-turner.

The Crown Prince of Sardones, Ander (he prefers Nicholas), was her childhood best friend, and her first teenage crush. Before they could explore their feelings, the Royal Family was exiled—and Kerris and Nicholas were countries apart.
Now in a turn of political events, the Royal Family is reinstated, and Nicholas wants Kerris to work for him as the family photographer. When they reunite, it is clear that their chemistry has only intensified. But the Royal Family’s transition back to Sardones is anything but smooth. There are some who would go to great lengths to sabotage the throne, and Nicholas’ relationship with a commoner.
Royal Gentleman by Christy Pastore is a standalone, second-chance romance set in the world of royals. With well-crafted characters, their story pulls you in. Kerris is tough, though emotionally vulnerable. Nicholas is every bit the gentleman, who has to constantly balance his duty to country and his love for Kerris. I do hope that the author plans to revisit this world in future books. Fans of royal and second-chance romance will love this hot and heartfelt story.
