Sins of the Mother

Lyra thought finding the aunt and uncle she never knew about would turn the tide of her life for the better. But living in their run-down home, under the too-knowing eyes of her uncle, the shadow of her beautiful mother, and her aunt’s religious zealotry, is not the loving family life she expected.  With the words of her mother’s journal showing her glimpses of the horrific past, Lyra bends under the pressure of her aunt’s church. The dark is full of sin as she tries to prove to herself that the sins of the mother do not pass on to the daughter. But she can only bend so far without breaking.
