    Outstanding! Five stars… no, double that. Taking, the second installment of the Forbidden Obsession Duet, blew my mind. Taboo, hot, forbidden, steamy, verboten. It’s all of these things, and oh, so good. It took me six hours to devour this book. I couldn’t get enough of Addilyn and Gideon.

    Addilyn has barely been surviving for the last five years. Gideon has been hanging on by a thread. They last saw each other under less than ideal circumstances, and it’s time to face the fire they created. Whether it’s the flames of revenge or lust remains to be seen.

    Join Addilyn and Gideon as they reconnect and discover how perfect they are together when they don’t deny the forbidden attraction between stepsiblings.

    As with the first book this book kept me on the edge of my seat. Gideon and Addilyn’s lives have changed so much since Wanting and you see how they eventually grow into their true selves. I loved how they came together to get revenge on common enemies. Their love showed no bounds and thats a love I would love to find.

    This book starts 5 years from where the last book ended, and thankful for that because I definitely did not want to see what Addliyn went through with her step father.

    We got the revenge and it was dished out to the MAX!! Gideon gets out of prison and believes Addliyn is the one who put him there when that is not the case… No spoilers though…

    He gets his revenge and it’s deserved, ruthless, wicked, evil, and psychopathic. I loved every bit of it.

    She brought the taboo, dark, and so much more. I did not want this to end, I was engrossed with this story from beginning to end!

    Highly, Highly recommend!!!

    Wow! Wow! Wow! After reading the first book in this duet, “Wanting”, I desperately needed to see some revenge happen! And Ms. Burke gave me just what I needed. Revenge so dark and so sweet that I cheered! This story picks up around 5 years after the first book ended. I was kind of glad because I honestly didn’t want to read what I KNEW Addilyn went through with her evil stepfather. Once Gideon gets out of prison for something he was basically set up for, he thinks he’s going to get his revenge on Addilyn and his dad. That is until he realizes he still loves her and together they plot against the ones who betrayed both of them. I honestly thought that Gideon would have been more cruel towards Addilyn but I don’t think that would have worked very well. Especially when he finds out what she’s been through. This story is smoking hot and I loved how they worked together and made certain people pay. And the ending? Again…………WOW!!!!! The ending was perfect for this story but you’re gonna have to get the book and read it. It’s dark (at least for me) but it’s so good that I couldn’t put it down!!

    Wickedly Twisted and Beautiful
    Man did this book hit all the feels. Anger, Love, Tears, Heartbreak, Sorrow, Rage and HEAT!!! I was left heartbroken and angry with Wanting and now we get to see how it all comes to an end. I was literally on the edge of my seat reading this, nervous and scared but also had my heart racing at the super steamy scenes leaving me all hot and bothered. Oh and there is definitely a “she did not just do that” scene – absolutely LOVED it.
    Definitely One-Click Worthy in my opinion without a doubt.

    Taking is the second book in the Forbidden Obsession Duet, and boy does it go to the forbidden darker side of dark romance. I loved every minute of this wickedness. Gideon (MMC) is out of jail and wants revenge. His father, Lloyd, promises it was all Addilyn’s (FMC) doing that had put him in there and lets him know just where she is to seek his revenge. Lloyd (step-father) is the evil that Addilyn did not see coming in the first book. Addilyn does everything to avoid Lloyd in this book. Gideon does get his revenge just not the revenge his father expected him to get, or one I saw coming. Addilyn gets her revenge in a way I never saw coming and she gets her HEA. It may not be the ending you and I could imagine but it is her HEA, and that is all that matters. (TW 18+ MF -Taboo/Forbidden Dark Romance) 4.5/Stars

    The saying “revenge better served cold” is never feel as sweet as what Taking depicted.

    The darkness, i love!
    The depraved, rough and dirty sexy scenes, i love!
    How the sinners pay for their sins – slow, sweet and swift- i love!

    But why it take almost 50% of the book for Gideon and Addilyn realise the lies that has been whispers in their ears.

    And the almost twist toward the end that has me perk up for how crazy it is? For how i wish the ending goes there, i question my own sanity
