    Another story about the Kincaides; Ridge runs the ranch he vied with his brother for, using his mother’s influence, but now he is engaged to a woman he doesn’t even like, let alone love. When Lacy, a one-night stand he hasn’t forgotten, appears with important news, it turns his world upside down.
    West and Quinn have done it again. This is quite different to the first story, but just as captivating. Lacy is a strong heroine, a woman who has overcome childhood adversity and the town’s opprobrium because of her family; she struggles to see past the dominant, stubborn and aggravating Ridge’s outward character, finding it hard to trust a man from a family like his, a man used to getting his own way. The reader feels for both characters as they navigate the problems they face.
    Terrific.
