The Vampire in my Bookshop

Amelia, the cute owner of a cozy little bookshop, finds a desperate vampire at her door. After a brutal cliffhanger, he craves the next book in the series, and she will lend him her own copy. She even lets him read it in her living room, but when he reaches a particularly steamy chapter, he makes her a bold proposition: to reenact the scene with her.
Desmond, a centuries-old vampire with a passion for books, has long harbored a quiet obsession with Amelia. When he finishes the first book in a series and realizes he needs the second, he finally has the perfect reason to visit her again, this time, after hours. After reading the spicy chapter where the enemies finally become lovers, he makes her an offer too wicked to resist, and to his eternal joy, she doesn’t.

“You okay?” I asked, taking a sip of my tea.
“Yes. This chapter is just…” he didn’t finish the sentence, but his eyes appeared slightly darker as he licked his lips.
“Chapter five?” I asked, remembering the heated scene where the enemies finally became lovers.
I had to blow off some steam after reading that one as well. Luckily I had been home alone and not somewhere in public.
“Yes, have you ever…” Desmond shook his head. “Sorry, personal question. Crossing boundaries,” he said, waving his hand dismissively.
I chuckled, moving closer to him and setting the cup of tea on my table. “You are in my living room, sitting on the floor, reading a spicy scene. We have already crossed some boundaries.”
Desmond smiled, his eyes softening for a moment. “That is true. I was just wondering if you have ever acted out a scene while reading?” he asked, his voice dropping an octave.
A shiver of arousal washed over me. “I have not,” I said slowly.
His eyes flicked from the page to me and back. “Do you want to try?” he asked.
I looked down for a second, wringing my hands together and mustering up the courage to say yes to his proposition. “I might,” I said, looking up.
Desmond was in front of me in seconds, still holding the book. His icy breath tickled my hair as he leaned towards me. “Do you want to read chapter five out loud while we act it out?” he asked, his voice barely louder than a whisper.
