    Hazel, thank you. This book is the exact kind of reason why I got into the dark romance genre in the first place – yes, the grotesque violence and twisted desires are appealing in a watching-the-wreck-through-your-fingers way, but we also get see characters go through the worst and most hellish experiences of their lives, and come out the other side, and heal and be happy and experience deep, deep pleasure. Violet has every right to be as violent as she is, and while this book, like the first one, is violent to the point that I felt ill, it felt cathartic and cleansing. Theo and Violet deserve all the orgasms in the world. Wonderful.
