Unholy Desire (Sinful Natures Book 3)
$4.99
As an overseas missionary who leads lost souls toward salvation, it’s imperative I live a godly existence, even in the midst of life-shattering grief.
Returning to the States brings about a trial worse than the loss of love, and I’m faced with desire for someone forbidden to me by my church and the word of God.
Aaron Weston.
My best friend’s son who is no longer a gangly teen. He makes me want things no newly widowed man should.
His presence fills the emptiness in my life, but my sinful nature longs for more. Every inch of him—in my heart, in my body, making me feel whole again.
Giving into the hunger of the flesh will take us down a path of immorality, one that goes against my strive for holiness.
I lost my wife from focusing on promised riches in glory.
And if I make the same mistake, I fear responsibility for the ruination of another soul.

Wow! I wish I could give 10 stars on this book! It was so freaking good! Holy heck! I swear I don’t know how these books keep getting better. I say every time I read Lynn’s books ” how the heck can you top that” and sure enough she does it again and I’m left with a book hangover for quite some time!
Now about this delicious unholy creation! I loved these characters in this book even the cranky old man! In the last book Lynn included Aaron in scenes that drew you in and made you curious about him. So we were all worked up wanting to know his story and boy did she deliver.
Oh and Ezzie!!! Dang can that older man get down! At one point this book was so dang hot and heavy, I had to put it down and take care of business lol.
Like always another bomb a book from Lynn! I can’t wait for Jed’s book.

Each time Lynn Burke adds another book to this series, I fall in love even more. This book gives you all the feels of a gay romance and really pulls at your heart strings. Aaron’s father Phillip is not well. He is very ill and Aaron is his primary care giver. Giving Aaron little time to live life and explore his sexuality.
Meanwhile, Ezra, Phillip’s best friend comes back home after 15 years and losing his wife. Ezra wants to see his best friend and help Aaron take care him. Aaron grew up with Ezra always coming on family trips and camping with him and his dad.
However, during Ezra’s stay with the Westons, this silver fox finds himself having feelings for his best friend’s son. (insert hot desires). He struggles to find himself in a position of uncertainty and feels like he is betraying Phillip by having these dark taboo desires for Aaron. Plus his work as a Pastor with Simply Grace church, has him questioning his faith and struggling to reconcile his feelings about being gay.
Aaron at the same time lusts for Ezra’s touch and longs for him to read his reciprocate his feelings. However, his father is aware of what is happening between them and tries to put a stop to it.
Feeling caught, shameful and guilty, Ezra escapes without a word to his best friend and Aaron.
Phillip has another stroke, and the realization that his friend is dying and he cannot and will not ignore this desire he has for Aaron. He decides to confront his friend and fight for the life he truly wants to live. Ezra is shocked with a secret he cannot believe.
Will Aaron and Ezra finally get Phillips blessing for their love? Will they be able to find peace? Will Ezra decide to give up his work with the church and find a way to deal with his homosexuality?

I cannot accurately describe how this story; how these two souls coming together, made me feel. I love when the points of view change between Ezra and Aaron because the author did such an amazing job making you feel all the emotions that they were feeling. Even though the love between Ezra and Aaron was sweet, warm and beautiful, their chemistry was off the charts hot with passion. I really love that this author can write stories that are well balanced in story line and steam. This whole series is amazing and it seems that each book gets better and better. I cannot wait to see what comes next.

This is story that twisted me up in knots the story is beautiful and full of sadness, happiness, hope and despair. It’s a wonderful book that is so well written. The age gap aspect of the book was enjoyable and well written.

In book 3 of Sinful Natures, we have Ezra and Aaron. Ezra and Aaron’s father, Phillip, are best friends and the object of Aaron’s desire. No one except a selected few know about how Aaron feels. While taking care of his invalid father, they learn that Ezra is coming home. His wife has died overseas and no one knows why. The pain and anguish that goes on between these two will have you reaching for tissues a few times. You can feel what the characters are feeling.I wanted to reach through and smack Ezra a few times, along with Phillip. But the “twist” towards the end left me with my mouth hanging open. Wasn’t expecting that at all. And it totally cleared up a few things in my mind! Loved, loved, loved this so much!!

My heart has melted for these two Ezra and Aaron will give you all the emotion, heartbreak, intense angst with so much passion and sizzling chemistry it will consume you and haunt you to the very end.
A delicious age gap that will touch your very soul and get you thinking as these beautiful men come to terms with what is forbidden love and have hope for the first time to just live.
I can’t even explain how much I loved Ezra and Aaron the story and the writing will take you to a place that is so heartfelt you will feel it all.

This book was a roller-coaster of emotions from both characters. The only thing I don’t like is the underlying religious tones in these books, it’s annoying and deflects from the actual story.
Otherwise, this was an amazingly written story, with two men who love each other wholeheartedly and they were not going to let anyone or anything get in the way.

Wow!! This series goes from strength to strength. Lynn Burke has given us another amazing 5 star story in Unholy Desire #3 Sinful Natures.
Again the setting is Simply Grace church in rural Pennsylvania. The story evolves around Aaron and Ezra and their unholy desire for each other.
My heart went out to Aaron, (friend of Zeke) who sacrifices having ‘a life’ to look after his invalid father, Phillip. However hard he tries, his selflessness and dedication never seem good enough. It was so sad to learn all he went through as a youth.
I fell in love with Ezra, he has been through so much, newly widowed he returns from Ukraine and resumes his old life living with his old friend Phillip and his son Aaron Weston.
We learn of his suffocating guilt about the death of his wife and how he feels he is not worthy of love and still seeks ‘golden crowns’
Pastor Welker and his homophobic church rears its ugly head again in a very unchristian way, the only saving grace is the Assistant Pastor Jed Simpson, who I do hope we see more of.
There is so much to love in this story, especially the sizzling heat and tension that leaps off the page.
There are some truly heartbreaking moments, I admit I cried at the hospital scene!… ‘hidden love’.
I went through a gamut of emotions with Ezra and Aaron; despair, repression, guilt, sadness, forbidden joy and eventual acceptance of their unholy desire.

My love of this book series never stops. Maybe it’s my dirty mind or my love of flipping off organized religion… maybe it’s both. Combine that with my love of gay romance and I’m just all in. Lynn writes these stories of men coming to terms with their sexuality, their love for one another, and how their religion has let them down so well I can’t help but be utterly sucked in every time.
This is the third story, and I find with every book in this series I love each book in a different way. With this one, I was deeply struck with sadness for both main characters and fully invested with what they were going through and what would become of them. This book isn’t light and fluffy. It’s deep, thoughtful, sad, and angst-heavy. There’s no levity to it, and for once I think that’s the correct tone to take. I usually strike out at books that don’t attempt at least some levity, because not all days are cloudy and grey and lonely, but considering the subject matters dealt with in this book and the events that happen both during and before this book there is very good reason for there to be so much anger and sadness. Of course, there is a HEA. That’s the payoff. That, and all the spicy scenes (once you get there).
This is a little slower of a burn than the previous two books, but for good reasons. A little slower than I like, but some appreciate that slow burn. I think I would’ve loved this book even better had it leaned into a Daddy dynamic of some type, but I can understand why Lynn made the choices she did with her characters, because their motivations were coming from different places than my gutter brain does (gutter brain loves a good Daddy).
Overall, it was another superb entry in this series. I’m looking forward to #4!

Mind-Blown with Desire
Have you ever read a book that you get sucked into that the whole world around you fades away. A place that when you get to a scene you either hold your breath or yell at your kindle. Well Unholy Desire is that to a T. There is so much passion, intense connection and heart-warming love between these two men.The strength they build together is just a beautiful site.
Lynn Burke has once again sucked me into her world for one of the most beautiful love stories I have read to date.
Don’t hesitate, trust me and one-click!

Okay, I am doing this review more as a personal perception. I know that my opinion is usually in my reviews but there are parts of this book that I truly felt. I’m blessed to be in love with a man that completes me and that is what I get from these characters.
Aaron truly has the most giving heart and reminds me of my own husband. He will give and give with no expectations to be lifted up or praised for his selflessness. Aaron gave up so much in life to help care for his father. When he needs help the most, it’s like fate stepped in and returned the one person he has always been able to rely on. Ezra is back after 15 years away, and after the loss of his wife. They are both so caught up in the memories they share, that when the feelings shift things change. They have angsty tension from the start, that builds to the best kind of slow burn. However, hidden love, regrets, and life changing bumps like these don’t always go so smoothly.
I’m stopping there because spoiling all this goodness would not be right, I love their story! I love this series, and am very excited for book 4 to come. 18+
