    *Please be aware of any TW for this book.
    This forbidden stepsibling story is so freaking good that I read it in less than 24 hours! This book kept me on the edge of my seat, flipping pages as fast as possible to absorb this coming-of-age story. The tension that grows between Addilyn and Gideon is off the charts. From the first time they lay eyes on each other, both parties have mixed emotions. The emotions of love, hate, and lust in the teenage years are so confusing. It’s taboo to want the person who will soon be your stepsibling. Both Addilyn and Gideon fight as hard as they can against what is acceptable, but the heart isn’t as easy to overrule. Throughout this book, I couldn’t help but want to reach out and comfort the young Addilyn. To help her figure out how to handle all she was going through hurt my heart—poor kid. Gideon didn’t have it much better. These two kids deserved a much better life than parents who put themselves before what was best for their children. The themes and triggers in this book should be heeded. There is a cliffhanger ending to Wanting, and I can’t wait to read the next book, Taking.

    I’m usually not one for high school age romances but Lynn Burke has a way of making love storylines that I might usually shy away from. Her unique voice and twists kept me turning the pages of this one. I was not expecting what I got from this story. Addilyn’s mother was a bit OTT at times. However, the tension between Gideon and Addilyn was on point from the start and I cannot wait to see where book 2 takes us!

    Gideon and Addilyn are highly addicting characters, I could not get enough of these two.

    They are thrown together because their parents got married. He became her tormentor but she loved every bit of it, and throughout the book you watch Gideon go from being the tormentor to the protector over her. He NEEDS to protect her.

    I absolutely despise her mother, it’s bad to say that out of every bad person in this book, she is the worst. I felt Addilyn’s pain when dealing with her mother. It broke my heart and I even cried at times.

    This was an amazing start to a new series and I’m ready for the next!

    Ms. Burke definitly hit the perfect spot for my dark taste buds.
    The forbidden of Gideon and Addi’s chemistry.
    The sick and darkness of grooming.
    The stupidity, jealousy and careless-ness of a mother.
    The community that turn blind eyes and put people above the laws.

    Cant wait to read the second book!

    Just WOW!!! And OMG I was addicted and my heart was pounding with these characters it was very intense as Gideon is Addilyn tormentor and then protector and boy does he protect with so many tricks, lies what is the truth and who do you trust.

    I do not like her mother at all and this had me feeling all sorts of things. Basically these guys gutted me with the emotions and feelings and it’s hot all at the same time and that ending OMGGGGG !!!! Written to keep you consumed and shocked.

    OMG!! This book!! I’m not going to do a normal review because I know I would give out spoilers but just know that this ends on a cliffhanger and there is no sex between Gideon and Addilyn. This book sets up book two and tells the story of how these two meet. It’s dark and it made me almost throw my kindle against the wall a few times but I didn’t! LOL Seriously, I need the next and final book to answer tons of questions. I’m already scared for what is going to happen to Addilyn but this author has a way of bring the characters their HEA!! It’s just gonna take the second book to get that! I couldn’t put this one down and it kept me on the edge of my seat!!! I might just have to beg the author for the next book!

    I normally do not read Highschool romances but I’m addicted to Lynn’s writing and I have to say this was drop dead INCREDIBLE! I couldn’t put it down and when I finished I had a horrible Book Hangover. I went into this knowing there was a cliffhanger but now I have to wait because it left you screaming, angry, hurt and with utter heartbreak.

    I loved the banter, bickering and the connection between Addilyn and Gideon. Gideon’s possessive protectiveness will leave you drooling. He may be bad influence for Addilyn but he is definitely what she needs! Definitely on the edge of my seat impatiently waiting for TAKING!

    Ooooo….Lynn Burke has embraced the dark side and I like it a lot! Her writing is always something I can count on to enjoy and she does not disappoint with this dark romance lover. This book has angsty steam, forbidden taboo, and young love with added darkness. The cocky self-aware Gideon (MMC) has no problem teasing the sweet new step-sister about what she secretly is wanting. While Addilyn (FMC) was raised by her mom, to be about poise and chaste living, to her Gideon is messy, sick minded and a step-brother she wants to hate. But in the end he might not be the threat she thinks he is. I really love their characters and the weird connection they both feel from the start. The cliffie in this book is dark and has me wanting more. I can’t wait to read the second book to this duet. Heed trigger warnings 4.5/Stars
